Alaska pharmacy tech license application

Alaska Board of Pharmacy is the official licensing board for pharmacy technicians in the state. A new Alaska law for pharmacy technicians was passed in April 2024, introducing several updates and changes aimed at enhancing and clarifying the role and responsibilities of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the state. Pharmacy technicians in Alaska with PTCB certification have greater responsibilities than technicians without this certification. For example, certified technicians are authorized to confirm prescription details with prescribers.

To prepare for the PTCB exam and receive a pharmacy tech license, applicants must first register with the Alaska Board of Pharmacy. Applicants are required to pay the mandatory application fee and submit all required documents to the state board. Competition for places within the Alaska pharmacy tech is currently high and candidates are encouraged to submit their application to meet the growing demand for this profession.
